It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!!

YAY, it's officially the Christmas season!! The most wonderful time of the year!!

Little touches of Christmas are making their way into our china hutch, finding their places among the pink rose china.

My Swap with Laura Glad you all enjoyed seeing the pretties I received in my bloggy swap with Laura. Here is what I sent to her.
She likes pink, green, pale blue, silver&gold, and vintage, so I created a tussie mussie just for her with that in mind.

Added lots of my handmade pastel Christmas tags.....


Along with some vintage ornaments and a silvery vintage Christmas card...

A bluebird button card I made for her....

Some vintage trims and velvety millinery leaves and flowers in her favorite pastels....

Guess what? He did!! This was part of a swap I exchanged with Laura.

What I'm Up To......

A little peek at our living room as it looks right now ~ the 9 ft. tree is up (you can see a little corner of it reflected in the mirror) ~

The vintage ornaments are being unwrapped and placed lovingly on the tree .....

Oh, and I'm getting the shoppe ready for a big update ~ some Christmas, like the Joyeux Noel framed print above....

What are YOU up to?

Vintage Rose~Covered Sewing BoxThis great old sewing box came home to live with me today! The top is quilted and not striped, that's just shadows from the sun streaming through the blinds (gorgeous autumn day today! :)

When I lifted the lid, this is what I saw:

Bonus vintage sewing supplies!!There's something about old fabric~ or paper~covered boxes that calls to me.
And, of course I always answer! :)Hope you are having a happy day!!

Little Shoes

My mom recently gave me this shoe from her sister. My mom's decor is more traditional than mine, so sometimes she gives me things that "don't go" in her home.

I especially like the fact that it has two little bluebirds on it!!I have a very small shoe collection (I think this makes #5?), so I thought I'd share those with you. I especially like this pink one. This one has pretty pink roses and little cherubs playing.

Most of these were picked up at yard sales for very little $.

Thanks for all your kind comments on my November post, and also on my kitties. They do kind of look like statues posing -- the two orange ones had found a sunny spot and didn't want to move, so it was a great time to capture them!!
